Mrs. Kornegay had been ill since Thanksgiving and had been in the hospital a week preceding her death. A native of Dothan, Alabama, she was Mary Elizabeth Price before her marriage to W. W. Kornegay on October 26, 1902.
Mr. and Mrs. Kornegay moved to Louisiana in 1904 and settled in the Dodson community. Eight children were born to them, three of whom preceded Mrs. Kornegay in death. She was a member of the Dodson Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, W. W. Kornegay of Dodson; three daughters, and two sons, Henry Kornegay and Mrs. Lynton [sic Linton] Mathews of Dodson; Mrs. W. L. Sowers of Winnfield; Mrs. George Barnes of Quinlon, Texas; and Lester Kornegay of Dothan, Ala. She also leaves two brothers and four sisters.
