Louis R. Ellis, 44, of 201 N. Edison, South Bend, past away at his home after a short illness. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a maintenance worker. Louis was born on April 8, 1929 to Geza and Mary Czegledy of South Bend.
Louis chancged his name at a later date. On Oct. 11, 1958, in South Bend, he married Phyllis Manijak who survived. Also surviving are stepfather and mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barillich of South Bend; three brothes, John, George, and Alex, all of South Bend; three stepbrothers, Steve, John, and Joseph Barillich, all of South Bend;, two sisters, Mrs.Emma (Emiel) VanVooren of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Mary Hagg, of Toledo, Oh. and a stepsister, Mrs. John Toth of Minnesota.
Louis served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946, seeing action in the West Pacific. He was a member of Pulasky Post 357, The Americn Legion, and the Postal Carriers, Local 304. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
