Vane was united in marriage to Annabeth Ellen Swearengen on September 1, 1934. Three children were born to this union, Thomas M. of Normal, Illinois, Mrs. Sallie Zoe Morlan of Pollock, Missouri and William J. of Chillicothe, Missouri.
Vane made his home near Newtown, until 1948 when he moved to Illinois, only to return to this area in 1967 where he remained the rest of his life. He joined the Center Grover Baptist Church in June of 1946, and this past summer rededicated his life to the Unionville Chrisitian Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Leaving to mourn his passing are his wife, Annabeth, two sons, Tom & Bill, one daughter, Sallie, one son-in-law, James, two daughter-in-laws, Judy and Peggy. Also, one uncle Mel Wertz of Bucyrus, Missouri, two aunts, Mrs. Zola Davis of Dixon, Illinois and Mrs. Daisy Schoonover and husband, (Shine) Schoonover of Lucerne, Missouri plus a host of other relatives and friends.
Vane was a faithful husband, and a devoted father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 1971 at Center Grove Church with Rev. Basil Sinclair officiating.
Soloist was Mrs. Gary Brown accompanied by Mrs. Jerry Brown.
Pallbearers were Ralph Brackett, Woodrow Thomas, Lenny Baldridge, John Baldridge, Forrest Davis, and Jim Tipton.
Internment was in Brackett Cemetery under the direction of Judd & Payne Funeral Home.
