Her mother was Mathilda (____) Anderson.

She married Alfred Sandygren 13 October 1883 in McDonough County, Illinois.

In 1884 they came west to Sprague, Lincoln County, WA where Alfred was employed in the Northern Railroad Pacific Shops. He quit the employment of the railroad 5 December 1892 to homestead a farm.

1900 they were enumerated in the United States Federal census at Yarwood, Lincoln County, WA.

Over the years they owned several ranches at different times. They farmed until 1907 when he retired and moved into the town of Downs.

In the last years of her life she made her home with her son, Albert in Spokane, WA.

Mrs. Amanda Sandygren finished her earthly work and last Saturday passed on to her reward. Born Oct 14, 1865 in Monmouth, IL, she and Alfred Sandygren were married in 1883 in IL and in 1884 came west to this sparsely settled new country. They came to Sprague where Mr. Sandygren was employed by the N P Railroad Co. In 1892 they moved to a homestead near Downs. The Sandygrens during the course of a number of years, owned several ranches at different times. Mr. Sandygren passed away in 1934. In recent years Mrs. Sandygren has made her home in Spokane, with her son, J. A. Sandygren and wife supervising her comfort. Surviving her are besides her son, J. A. (Albert), 2 grandsons, Rey of Spokane and Elbert of Seattle; one great grandson; one brother, Bert Anderson of Cheney; one sister, Mrs. Emma Womach of Ritzville. Funeral services were held Thursday in Spokane; committal services were held Thursday at Hillcrest Cemetery and burial was in the family plot. (Citizen-15 Oct 1948)
