Edgar was the son of John Benjamin and Jane (Stevens) Partlow. Edgar married Myrtle McHaffey on July 8, 1903. They had two children: John Raymond and Russell Edward Partlow. They later divorced.
Edgar married Alice Toland Swinford on July 22, 1922. They had two children: Lottie May "Cookie" and Edgar Thomas Partlow Jr.
Edgar's obituary was in the Indianapolis Star on March 25, 1855:
PARTLOW - Edgar T. Sr., Acton. Ind., father of Russell Edgar T. JR. and Lottie May (Cookie) Partlow, grandfather of 7, great-grandfather of 3, brother of Byron and Charles Partlow, departed this life Tuesday, age 74. Services Friday, May 25 at the MOORE AND KIRK NORTHEAST CHAPEL. 2530 Station St., 10a.m. Burial Sutherland Park. Friends invited.
