Preceded in death by parents, Coy and Cora Best; husband, Orris E. Dawson; daughter Dona I. Blankenship; brothers, Truman Best, Edgar Best, Fred Best, Claude Best, and Lawrence Best; and sister, Mary Coning.

Survived by son 'and daughter-in-law, Robert and Bette Dawson of Santa Ana, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Nola and Russell Collins of Maryville, TN; grandchildren include Kasey ‎(Ed)‎ Heethuis of Menifee, CA; Valerie Dawson of Santa Ana, CA; Shana ‎(Mike)‎ Murphy of Texas; and Angela Collins, Carolyn ‎(Randall)‎ Dixon, and Christine Collins, all of Maryville, TN; great-grandchildren include Brandon, Brooke, and Bailey Heethuis; Leanne, Jessica, and ‎(baby-to-be)‎ James Murphy; and Madison and Collin Dixon. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Burl and Mamie Sue Best; Vern and Mildred Best; and Jeanette Best all of Maryville, TN.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2005 at Fairhaven Memorial Cemetery in Santa Ana, CA.
