Heart trouble and other complications, from which the had a sufferer for the last four years, resulted in the death Sunday night at 6:55 o'clock of Mrs. Mattie Huddleston at her home, 408 East Erie Street. Mrs. Huddleston was formerly Mattie Gant, and was born November 1, 1867, in Wabash county, Indiana, a daughter of Abraham and Rebecca (Brian) Gant. The family moved to Jasper county and remained two years, afterward coming to Porter county snd settling near Kouts.
She was united in marriage to George Carpenter. To this union was born one daughter, who died in Infancy. After a residence at Lapeer, Mich., she came to this city and was married to Henry Kuehl. who preceded her In death four years ago. Two weeks ago she was united in marriage to M. A. Huddleston, who survives her.
Also surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Emma Fuller of Shelby, Ind, Mrs. Lawrence Lauer and Mrs. Frank Rice, of Valparaiso; Obe Gant, of Hobart; Mrs. Frank Shinabarger, of Hamlet, and Elijah Gant; address unknown. She was a member of the Christian church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, 408 East Erie street, with burial In Graceland cemetery.
