Mrs. Jennie Lauer, 92, 706 Jefferson, died early today at her home after a several months illness.
She was born Dec. 17, 1869 at Wabash, Ind., and had been a resident of Valparaiso for 60 years, coming from Wabash. She was the daughter of Abraham and Rebecca Jane (Brane) Gant, and was married in 1895 at Valparaiso to Lawrence Lauer, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Christian church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Eva Ethel Scott; two grandchildren, Howard Scott and Mrs. Vonda Tressler; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Mrs. Josie Rice and Mrs. Lillie Shinabarger. Five brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bartholomew Funeral home with the Rev. Percy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday until time of services.
