MRS. FRANK RICE

Mrs. Frank (Ina Josephine) Rice, 85, 554 Lincolnway, died at 2:55 a.m. today in Porter Memorial hospital after a lingering illness.
Born in Wabash, Ind., May 17, 1879, she was the daughter of Abraham and Rebecca (Brane) Gant. On Jan. 13, 1897, in Valparaiso, she was married to Frank Rice, who preceded her in death in 1939.
Mrs. Rice was a member of the First Christian church.
Surviving besides her son-in-law, George Cowen, with whom she resided, is one sister, Mrs. Lillie Shinabarger, of Knox. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Clara Marie Cowen; three brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Wetmore Funeral home with the Rev. Thomas E. Alston, First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
