Virgil Croft Allison was a Mason, Odd Fellow and Lawyer, veteran of WWI,

Virgil Croft Allison Jr.; John Robert Allison, of Cookeville TN; Joe P. Allison & William B. Allison of Gallatin, TN.

He was the Mayor of Monterey, TN & a member of the School board in Monterey, TN.

Funeral Services at Methodist Church for Virgil C. Allison:
Virgial C. Allison, 53, died of a heart ailment at his home on Pearl Street early Wednesday morning.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. O. P. Gentry of Sparta, Rev. Thorton Fowler, Rev. Bob Ramsay and A. S. Landiss officiating. Burial will be in the Cookeville cemetery.
Mr. Allison, son of Mrs. Bryd P. Allison and the late Byrd P. Allison, was born and reared in Putnam County, and prior to coming to Cookeville resided in Monterey.
Following elementary training in the Monterey city schools, he attended school at David Lipscomb, Harriman, Branham and Hughes, and attended Cumberland University in Lebanon where he received his Law Degree in 1916. After serving with the Armed Forces of World War I, he returned to Monterey where he practiced his profession until 1930 when he became a member of the Cookeville Bar and with his family came here to reside.
His wife, who survives, was the former Miss Anna Copeland of Monterey. In addition he is survived by four sons; V. C. Allison, Jr., John Robert Allison, now of Cookeville, but recently discharged from the U. S. Army respectively, Joe P. Allison and Ensign William B. Allison, who are still away on naval duty, and by his mother, Mrs. Byrd Allison, of Gallatin.
Mr. Allison servied with the Fifth AntiAircraft Corps, serving overseas for several months. He left Brest, France on Christmas Day, 1918, arriving home the last of January, 1919.
