Funeral services for Sidna Jasper "Jack" Allen, 24, who died at Martin Memorial Hospital, Mt. Airy, last Thursday following an operation for an accidental pistol wound in the abdomen, were held at the Gunnel Cemetery near his home in The Hollow (Patrick County, Va.), last Friday afternoon.
The pistol wound was suffered by Allen Saturday, September 21st.
According to meager reports, he was cleaning his pistol after shooting at chicken hawks, in an attempt to eject an unfired bullet, the gun fired, the bullet striking him in the lower abdomen.
The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Allen.
Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delia Quesinberry Allen.
He was an employee of the Bassett Industries at Bassett, Va.
