Louis was born to Frederick Sr. and Anna Buehler, both deceased. He was one of six children - Frederick Jr. (deceased), Marcella Forney, Rosemary, Bernard, and Ann Marie Clay. Louis married Carol R. Westlake on Feb. 1, 1958, in Peoria. She survives.

Louis is also survived by six children, Mary (Robert) Ray IV of Virginia, Rose-Ann (Todd) Wilson of Indiana, Michael (Lisa) Tivis-Buehler of Kentucky, Margaret (Liza) Buehler of Chicago, Joseph and Patrick of Peoria.

Louis graduated from Manual High School. He was Golden Gloves boxer, served in the U.S. Army, worked 28 years at Hiram Walker & Sons Inc. and retired from ADM.

He played football, baseball and other sports. When he no longer could play, he refereed.

He was a hard worker, willing to give a helping hand. He would work extra jobs by unloading semis, painting and shingling houses, fixing cars, doing carpentry, woodworking and plumbing, and whatever was needed to be done to support his family.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Peoria.
