Bernard Richard Buehler born on September 1, 1931. He was one of 6 children born to Fredrick and Anna Buehler. He was raised in Peoria, Illinois. He attended University of Illinois and was in the theater.

He joined the Air Force and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Once his time of service was over, he moved to L.A. County in California. He met his future wife Jean Hill at a diner he frequented, and she worked at. They wed on April 27, 1963, that was when they became Mr. Bernie and Jean Buehler

Bernie worked at USA gas station and worked his way up to become a store manager up in Redding, Ca. He loved helping people and enjoyed life, was always happy so that's why people came in droves to say goodbye when he retired.

Shortly after retiring he started working at the Red Bluff VFW Hall. He was a faithful worker there for 20 yrs. He was also very active in the Republican party and he took his Grand Daughter Becca Lutes to young republican rallies. A few years ago he retired from helping at The VFW Hall. He still went to republican and VFW meetings when he could attend and would share a few drinks of wine with his long-time fellow volunteer Joy at the VFW hall.

Near the end of October 2021, Jean his wife took him to St Elizabeth Hospital and on October 27, 2021, he passed away. He is survived by his wife Jean Buehler, Michelle Lutes, (Cliff Lutes), Brian Buehler, Jennifer Buehler and Grand Children Becca Lutes, Aaron Lutes and Stephen Lutes. He left behind a legacy of hard work, helping others less fortunate, loving people for who they were and enjoying life!!! He will be sorely missed by many!
