Stegall moved to Texas in 1894 settling in Navarro County, Texas. Samuel Stegall married Miss Emma Guinn. The couple moved to Young County in 1906 from Navarro County, Texas.
He was a farmer.
Survived by his wife; five children - Glynn Stegall, Frank Stegall, Mrs. Marvin McCleskey, Mrs. Troy Ickard; Miss Ruth Stegall; four grandchildren; one brother - John Stegall; two sisters - Mrs. Sallie Coleman and Mrs. Nettie Haggard.
