In 1924 he graduated from the Harrington High School.

While in California he met and married Cecelia Arthur. In 1937 they returned to Harrington, WA and commenced to farm.

They had four sons:

Thomas Eugene "Tom" Talkington, who married Rosemarie Buck

George Norman Talkington, who married Donna Rae Bennett

James Arthur "Jim" Talkington

William Robert "Bill" Talkington, who married Sylvia Gale Smith

He is buried next to the beautiful Talkington Monument.
