Eliza Jane was the daughter of Rev. THOMAS SPRINGER BRONSTON, SR & his 1st wife, LUCY ANN WILSON CLARK of Richmond, Madison County, Kentucky.

Her first marriage was 4 Apr 1833 in Madison Co, KY (date carved on her headstone) to General SAMUEL BLACK (1800-1862), s/o John Black & Sarah Gass (d/o Capt David Gass who came to KY with Daniel Boone and settled at Boonesborough).
Note: Eliza's father, Thomas S Bronston Sr, later married Sam Black's sister, Martha "Patsy" Black, as his 2nd wife.

The children of Sam and Eliza were:

1) Alexander C "Alex" Black (1834–abt 1890), h/o Miss Talula "Lula" McGee, d/o Michael McGee & Martha Vance Alexander of Anderson Dist, SC
Note: Thomas S Bronston Sr, Alex's grandfather, married Lula's widowed mother, Martha Vance (Alexander) McGee (1805-1878), as his 3rd wife.

2) Thomas Black (born 1836), h/o Lorinda ___. They lived in Washington County, KY.

3) Dr. John Dudley Black (born 1838), h/o Sallie ___.

4) Mary Ann Black (1840–1863), w/o J. Lace Thompson.

5) Samuel G. Black (20 Mar 1842 - 18 Aug 1844), infant s/s with his mother.

6) Lucy Jane Black (1847–1872), w/o Benjamin F. Dale, s/o Abram Newton Dale.

Eliza's second marriage in June 1865 (date carved on her headstone) was to Abram Newton Dale (1811–1883) of Woodford County, KY, as his 3rd wife. They had no children.

Eliza was buried in Richmond Cemetery in Madison County, KY - s/s with her infant son Samuel G. Black (1842-1844).
