Rites Are Held At Norman For Mrs. Burton
Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie Burton, 95, of Norman, mother of Mrs. Walter Erman and Mrs. Dudley Truitt of Carnegie, were held July 22 in the Alameda Baptist church, Norman. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.
Mrs. Burton was born March 22, 1874 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. and lived in Caddo county from 1924 to 1960 before moving to Norman.
She is survived by five sons, G.R. Bishop, Olney, Tex.; A.P. Bishop, Corona, Calif; W.C. Bishop, Loving, Tex.; Joe Burton Downey, Calif., an A.W. Burton of the home; a stepson, W.P. Burton, Olney, Tex.; and five daughters, Mrs. Verna Mae Clark, Ada; Mrs. Dollie Swanda, Apache; Mrs. Mary Lou Milligan, Norman; Mrs. Erman, and Mrs. Truitt, forty-five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
