New York City Mayor. He served as Mayor of New York City, New York from 1898 to 1901. He was the first person to be elected to Mayor after the five city boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island and the Bronx were consolidated in 1898. The Van Wyck Expressway was named for him.
