A warrant on a charge of manslaughter, was issued in Johnson County Court on Tuesday for Victor McKenzie, driver of the car.
Mrs. VanHoose was the daughter of the late Allen Thomas and Rhuhemma Sublett of Paintsville.
She had been a member of the United Baptist Church since November 7, 1908.Mrs. Van Hoose lived an exemplary Christian life.
She was a kind and loving neighbor, and friend, and will be sadly missed in the community.
She was married to Ivan Van Hoose on September 30, 1916. Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter, Mrs.Thomas Carter of Springfield, Ohio and two grandsons, David Michael and Thomas William Carter.
She is survived by five sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Ralph Williams, Mrs.Ransom Daniel, Mrs.Fred Baldwin, Mrs.Hebert Ward,Mrs.Walker Horn, all of Paintsville, Mat, Brookie, Monroe andFrank Sublett, all of Paintsville.Two brothers Jay and Tandy preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ransom Daniel on Monday at 2 o'clock by Elder F.F.Rigsby and Rev.O.I.Williams.
Interment was in the family cemetery.
