Daughter of Phillip Vest and Mariam Helm (? name of mother is uncertain). Born in Virginia; married Thomas C. Malone, 1825, in what was then Washington County Kentucky. Left Kentucky and relocated to what was then Crawford County, Missouri (now Meramec Township, Phelps County, Missouri) about 1834.

[ Records show that a Thomas and Elizabeth Malone divorced ln Feb. 1860 -- it appears there were two couples in the county at that time with the same names, and that divorce was for the others.]

The last time they are noted on any record is the United States Census, information collected June 1880. The date of death for both is given to be 1880.

Father Philip Vest was born ca. 1786 in Campbell Co., Virginia and later relocated to what became Marion County, Kentucky. The U.S. Census of 1850 shows he was married to Marion (appears to have died about 1865), but it is not certain this was Elizabeth's mother. On the Census of 1870 he is given to be age 84 and infirm. In 1874, Elizabeth Vest Malone and Thomas C. Malone signed over the Marion Co., Kentucky plantation on which Philip Vest lived to Maurrel Evans, William A. Vandike, and Lindsey Weatherford for $1000 and the provision that they take care of Philip for the rest of his life. It is not certain when this Philip Vest died, though there are indications he may have lived as late as 1884.

Children:
Thomas Malone, Jr. [b. Dec. 1826 in KY, appears to have died before 1840].

Lucinda Malone [born about 1829 in KY, found living with her parents on every census through 1880 when she is last noted].

Hardin Malone [born 1831 in KY; listed by the U.S. Provost Marshal as subject to the draft, was age 34, living in in Norman, Dent Co., Mo. July 1865; however, also believed to have been a veteran of the Army of the C.S.A. during the Civil War; married (1) Sarah Shoemate about 1856, married (2) Catherine Driskell in 1865; family found living in Ozark Co., Mo. in 1870, then Phelps Co. Mo. in 1876 and 1880 (Hardin was working in the iron mines), known to have had several children, but there is no further information].

Mary "Polly" Malone.

John Wesley Malone [b. 1835; married (1) Melinda Dawson 17 June 1855, married (2) Emily Matthews 2 Aug. 1857, may have married (3), found living in Phelps Co., Mo. in 1870 and 1880, known to have had several children, but there is no further information].

Sarah Malone [b. 1836, d. before 1860].

son Malone [1840's, no further information].
