Gertrude Crist dies at age 75
Mrs. Gertrude (Gertie) Crist, 75, of Monroe, wife of Raymond Crist, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the Adams county memorial hospital, where she had been hospitalized since Tuesday. She had been in failing health for 6 ½ years.
She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.
Born in Wells county on Sept. 23, 1898, she was a daughter of John and Mary Kimmer-Reece, and was married on July 26, 1958, to Raymond Crist.
Surviving are the husband, five children, Dale Arnold, Harold Arnold, Max Arnold and Robert Arnold, all of route 1, Bluffton; Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Spoolstra of Angola, two stepsons, Quentin Crist and Kermit Crist of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Amstutz of Ashland, O., and Mrs. Molly Inskeep of the Methodist Home in Warren; two brothers, Jim Reece of Marion and William Reece of Bluffton; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Thoma-Rich funeral home, Bluffton, with Rev. Donald Wilks officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove cemetery, Bluffton. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight.
