Max was born on April 24, 1937 in Wells County, Indiana to Luster H. & Gertrude (Reece) Arnold. He graduated from East Rockcreek High School in 1955, where he played on the basketball and baseball teams. He started his 40+ years involvement in the Wells County 4-H Programs, and passed on his passion for cattle to his children, grandchildren and many friends.
On August 10, 1978 in Miami, OK, Max and Shirley A. (Fear) Arnold were married. Shirley survives in Bluffton along with children: Tim (Deb) Arnold of Berne, IN, Marilyn (Barry) Buckland of Huntington, IN., Tami (Tom) Sealscott of Monroeville, IN., Mary Jo Johnson, Dave (Julie) Penrod, Randy (Linda) Penrod all of Bluffton and Keith (Jenina) Penrod of Broken Arrow, OK. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and a brother Harold (Marge) Arnold of Bluffton.
He is preceded in death by his parents along with two brothers Bob & Dale Arnold and a sister Marge Dalrymple.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 7 on Sunday (February 1, 2015) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton, Indiana. Funeral Services will take place at 10:30 on Monday (February 2, 2015) at the funeral home with calling for one hour prior to the service. Jeff Lemler will officiate. Burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, Indiana. Memorials may be made in Max’s memory to the Wells County 4-H Association through the funeral home.
