Funeral services were conducted Saturday, at 2 p.m., in the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, for Henry Allen Ayers, age 82 (Note: This age doesn't agree with his birth and death dates), who died at his home in North Salem, Thursday (Note: April 5, 1962), after an illness of eight weeks. He was born August 22, 1882, near Lizton, the son of James and Elizabeth (Scott) Ayers. He was married April 17, 1908, to Ocie Coombs in Boone County. He attended the Lizton schools and was a lifelong farmer. He was a 55 year member of the Lizton K of P Lodge. Among survivors are the widow, Mrs. Ocie Ayers, one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Cloncs and a son Forest J. both of North Salem, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. One son and one daughter are deceased. In charge of funeral services was the Rev. Edgar Byram. Burial was in the Lizton K of P Cemetery.
