In the early 30s he came to Converse County, Wyoming where he married Leona Wintermote on December 27, 1932. They settled on her homestead west of Casper, Wyoming where they lived until 1939. They moved back to Converse County where Bob ranched and worked for Stanolind Pipeline. To this union were born two girls, Betty Lou and Vivian Joan; and one son, Donald Roy. Leona passed away Sept. 10, 1941.
Robert married Inez Hannon on March 23, 1948 and they divorced February 6, 1950.
He then married June Syferd Markos on October 31, 1953. June and her former husband had 4 children; two of whom were still living at home with June (Nick and Kathy Markos) and Bob raised them as his own. They moved to Greybull, Wyoming where they purchased a nursing home. June ran the nursing home and Bob drove truck for Wyo Ben Bentonite for a number of years. In retirement he enjoyed fishing and studying Wyoming history.
Survivors included his wife, June; son Donald R. of New Orleans, LA.; daughters, Betty Alberts of Douglas, Wyoming and Vivian Robison of Seattle, WA; step-son Nick Markos of Gillette, Wyoming and step-daughter, Kathy Fowler of Wallace, NE; two sisters, Hertha Harding and Esther Hoenecke of Canada.
