Docia was the daughter of John Andrew Tabor and Martha A. Compton. She married James Alexander Cooper, and they were the parents of Edward Alvey, Robert Columbus, Nora Malvina, Freely Ernest, Arthur Bennett, Beulah Lee (Via), and twins Lilly Mae and Lula Ann (Hale).
