He was born on May 18, 1896, in Allenton, Washington County, a son of Joseph and Theresa O’Donald Ruffing.
Survivors include his widow; Irene; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Torres of Chicago, Mrs. Keith Stuckey of Mishicot, Mrs. Everett Bornemann and Miss Sylvia Ruffing, both of Hilbert; one son, Bernard Riffing of Hilbert; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Ray Ruffing of Hilbert; and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Grey of Hilbert, Mrs . Leo Grogan of Milwaukee and Mrs. John Winkler of New Holstein.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church at Stockbridge. The Rev. William Willinger will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Fargo Funeral Home at Stockbridge.
