Mrs. Walter Campbell, 73, of R. 1, Hilbert, died Wednesday, May 3, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay after a lingering illness.

The former Isabell Ruffing was born June 22, 1893 in West Bend, a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Ruffing.
On Nov. 11, 1919, she was married to Walter Campbell at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stockbridge. The couple moved to R. 1, Hilbert, where they farmed their entire married life.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hilbert and the Christian Mothers Society of the church.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mr. Bernard (Marie) Fassbender of R. 3, Kaukauna; two sons, Arthur and Leo, both of R. 1, Hilbert; three sisters, Mrs. Essie Grey of R. 2, Hilbert, Mrs. John Winkler of New Holstein and Mrs. Leo Grogan of Milwaukee; two brothers, Raymond and Levi, both of R. 2, Hilbert; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hilbert, the Rev. John Schmitt, pastor, celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial was in the church cemetery.
