Margaret Gibbons Jones, 95, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Thursday at College Avenue Baptist Church, 1400 College Ave., Fort Worth. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Margaret Katherine Gibbons Jones, 95, of Denton went to be with her Lord, Monday, May 24, 2010, in the Denton Vintage Care Center. She was born August 6, 1914 in Denton County on the Gibbons' Farm S.W. of Argyle to John Hendrix, Sr. and Lotta Ethel (Sparks) Gibbons. On March 13, 1948 she married Dewitt Talmage Jones at his home located at 1120 5th Ave. Fort Worth, TX. He passed away on March 6, 1976.

She attended Stoney Ridge Elementary School, Argyle, adjoining their farm. In 1930 she graduated form Argyle High School as Salutatorian. In 1931 she graduated form Denton Senior High School. She graduated from Methodist Hospital of Nursing,

Ft. Worth, TX in May 1936.She received her post graduate certificate in Obstetrics from Woman's Hospital New York, NY in 1939. Returning to Ft. Worth she worked in the Methodist Hospital as and O.B. Supervisor, Private Nursing and Industrial Nurse at Consolidated Vultee in Ft. Worth for 27 years.

She was a faithful member of College Avenue Baptist Church for 73 years.

She was a past member of American Association of Industrial Nurses. She was a Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, South Ft. Worth Chapter #835.

In 2000 Margaret moved to Lake Forest Retirement Village in Denton. She loved her new home. She had countless friends of all ages every where she went.Her love of Christ was shown by her love for all. She moved 8 years later to The Vintage Care Center. She was a cheerful, loving aunt with a quick sense of humor.

Mrs. Jones is survived by 6 nieces, Evelyn Maxine Evans and husband Billy of Argyle, (her namesake) Margaret Ann McClaeb of Baytown, Carolyn Esters Allen and husband Eddie of Murphy, Marilyn Gibbons, Deborah Fletcher and Vicki Gibbons.3 nephews, Cecil Wayne Robinson and wife Lena Faye of Argyle, William Warren Gibbons and wife Kaye of Ennis, W. Lee Gibbons and wife Elsie of Austin. Step-granddaughter, Dixie Lee Hubbard and husband Fred of Trophy Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her sister, Gladys G. Robinson, brothers; Warren Sparks Gibbons, John (Jack) H. Gibbons, Jr., and David Collins Gibbons. One nephew, Kenneth Gayle Robinson and one niece, Rochelle Karen Robinson Eaker, step-children, Mildred Logston and Roger Dewitt Jones.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at College Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, TX.A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. preceding the service. Burial will follow at Laurel Land, Ft. Worth. Dr. Robert Beck will officiate.

Pallbearers are Kent Evans, Cary Evans, Dale Robinson, William Gibbons, W. Lee Gibbons and David Trammal. Honorary Pallbearers are; David W. Robinson and C. Wayne Robinson.
