Argyle - John Hendrix "Jack" Gibbons. 74, of Argyle, died Monday, May 6, 1991, in Argyle.

He was born July 30, 1916, in Argyle, the son of John Hendrix Gibbons and Ethel Sparks Gibbons, attended Stoney Ridge Elementary School and Argyle public schools, and graduated from Denton High School in 1933.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Argyle and a self-employed farmer-stockman.

Service was Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Argyle with the Rev. Bill Pritchett and the Rev. O.D. Carpenter officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Denton.

Survivors include a brother, David C. Gibbons of Fort Worth; two sisters, Gladys Robinson Harding of Uvalde and Margaret Gibbons Jones of Fort Worth; seven nieces; and three nephews.

Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Argyle, where he was a member. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Denton.

Mr. Gibbons was born in Argyle.

He attended Stoney, Ridge and Argyle schools in Denton County. He was a 1933 graduate of Denton High School. He was a self-employed farmer and rancher.

Survivors: Brother, David Gibbons of Fort Worth; and two sisters, Gladys Harding of Uvalde and Margaret Jones of Fort Worth.
