F.S. Beckham, State Pioneer, Dies July 2
F.S. Beckham, a resident of the state since 1901 and of Caddo county since 1919, died at a Carnegie hospital July 2 at the age of 82. Funeral service were at the Fairview church north of Eakly Sunday by R.E. Harvey of Fort Cobb and burial was in the Pogue cemetery. Grandsons of the aged man were bearers and granddaughters were flower girls.
He and his family had settled near Fort Cobb in 1919 and made that his home until a few months ago when he moved to Eakly.
Finley Stewart Beckham was born April 4, 1861 at Martins Mills, Tenn. He was united in marriage to Hester Ann Rose April 26, 1883 and to them seven children were born, a daughter and six sons. One son preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hester Beckham, Eakly; and children, L.L. Beckham, Modesta, Calif.; Mrs. Ruie Metz, Eakly; H.J. Beckham, Eakly; M.B. Beckham, Colony; T.C. Beckham, Hominy, and Coy Beckham, Salinas, Calif. Also 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
