Charles was involved in a variety of businesses in the area around Carrollton, Carroll County, Missouri over the years. He was a coal dealer and co-owner of Wagaman and Tull Coal in Carrollton. He also farmed and operated a grain elevator at various times. He seems to have been in the grain business with another of his brothers, John Randall Wagaman, for a while.
Charles' daughter-in-law, Mona Wagaman, died in 1918 at the age of 32. Her death left Charles' son, Floyd, a widower and the father of a daughter who was just under 3-weeks-old.
Floyd and his daughter, Alene, lived with Charles and Fannie after Mona's death.
Charles died of kidney and heart disease 12 days after his 76th birthday in 1929. He was buried on 25 Sep 1929 and was survived by his wife, Fannie; 1 son, Floyd Wagaman; and 1 granddaughter, Alene Wagaman.
Charles' wife, Fannie, passed away in 1942.
