James Jefferson Wagaman was the son of John Randall and Martha (Dykes) Wagaman. He was born in 1839 in Kentucky, and in 1850 his family was living in Nelson County in that state. James married Margaret Albro on 27 Sep 1866 in Trenton, Clinton County, Illinois.

Emma A. (Wagaman) Parker Gleason (abt 1873 - bef 1930)
Alice M. (Wagaman) Dulin 1878-1952
Harry F. Wagaman (1885-1938)

By 1880 the family had settled in Carrollton, Missouri, and lived there until at least 1900, after which they relocated to Ammon, Bingham County, Idaho, by 1910 (according to census records). James died in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on January 4, 1922, at the age of 82. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, according to his death certificate.
