Josephine Henrietta Cantrell, 77, formerly of 1409 Manning, died Wednesday, November 18, 1981, at Medical Lodge East in Arkansas City, Ks. Born on April 5, 1904, she was the daughter of William and Bertha Heflin who moved to Winfield in 1906 from Macon, Missouri. In 1919, she was married to Robert V. Cantrell Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was pre-deceased by her husband in 1969, and son Robert Victor Cantrell Jr. in 1974. Survivors include one son, Albert Victor of Seattle, Washington; one daughter, Sherrie Tucker of Wellington; five sisters, Hazel Cantrell of Wichita, Mrs. Stanley Bass, Mrs. Mary Bateman, Mrs. Dorothy Daniels, and Mrs. Thelma McGinnis, all of Winfield; one brother, Bob Heflin of Wichita; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held November 20, 1981, at Highland Cemetery with the Reverend John Blythe officiating. Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements. Interment at Highland Cemetery.
