The native of Brantley County lived most of his life in Pierce County and was a retired boilermaker and farmer. He was the widower of Margaret Dixon Hickox and was a member of Boilermaker's Local No. 26 and a former member of Pierce County Farm Bureau. He attended the Primitive Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: four daughters, Janice Dixon and Patricia Purvis, both of Blackshear, Vonice Strickland of Patterson and Sharon Roberson of Screven; two sons, Donald Hickox of Blackshear and Troy Hickox of Patterson; two sisters, Ethel Lewis and Emma Griffin, both of Nahunta; two brothers, Melvin Hickox of Offerman and Foster Hickox of Nahunta; four sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, 15 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Enon Primitive Baptist Church, burial in Shiloh Cemetery.
