Barnwell - Verne Hutson, 71, of Barnwell died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Barnwell Memorial Park Cemetery by the airport. Mr. Hutson was a native of Springfield. He was the son of the late Isaiah Hutson and Rodell Gleaton Hutson. He was a member of Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church and two-time champion of the Green Branch Fishing Tournament. Mr. Hutson worked for Miliken Company and retired from The Shuron Company in Barnwell. He was predeceased by a granddaughter. Survivors include his wife, Susie Croft Hutson; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Ray) Renew, of Williston; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry (Rhonda) Hutson, of Barnwell, Todd (Kristie) Hutson, of Blackville, and Charles (Angie) Hutson, of Barnwell; sisters, Adelle W. McKenna, of Healing Springs, Genny Williams, of Neeses, and Joanne Adams, of Montmorenci; brothers, Lonell and John E. Hutson, both of Healing Springs, and Buster Hutson, of Springfield; and 10 grandchildren.
