James A. Casperson, 61, 904–14th Street, Nevada, IA, died Monday, Feb 23, 1987, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb 26, at the Nevada Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Harry L. Cleveland officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Nevada, IA.

James A. Casperson was born Nov 23, 1925, in Ames, IA, to Albert and Gladys (Welch) Casperson. He attended schools in Nevada. During World War II, he served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. On May 7, 1947, he married Dorothy Marie Wilson. He was employed by Donnelley Marketing until his retirement, May 1986. He was a member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, the Rev. Michael J. Casperson of Springfield, MO; three daughters, Gloria J. Mooney and Carol A. Mills, both of Nevada, IA, and Debra Kay Paris of Boone, IA; two sisters, Anna Mae Wilson of Nevada and Alberta Allie of Eagle Grove, IA; five half sisters, Eleanor McBride of Marshalltown, IA, Shirley Broders of Grinnell, IA, Wanda Phillips of Kingman, AZ, Lois Tilley of Des Monies, IA, and Sandra Halterman of CA; four half brothers, Clarence Airhart, Earl Airhart, and Larry Airhart, all of Des Moines, IA, and Don Airhart of Dexter, IA; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Chet Ryan Mortuary after 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services on Thursday.
