He was born on September 25, 1939.
Larry retired from a printing factory where he worked for over 20 years.
He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and the Iowa Cubs. Most of all Larry was known for being very independent and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Tim (Sherri) Airhart, John (Amanda) Airhart; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nephew, Steve Airhart; and sister-in-law, Lois Airhart.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Donneta Sue Airhart and Sheryl Lynn Airhart; brothers, Clarence, Don, and Earl.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines, with visitation of friends and family prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Larry.
