Services for Carrie Ada Blevins, 99, Ada, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Chapel, the Rev. Shawn Weibers officiating. Burial follows at the Allen Cemetery.

Mrs. Blevins died on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at a local nursing home. She was born Oct. 4, 1910, in Heavener to John Henry and Ada Josephine Hathcoat Fortner.

She attended school in Heavener and Citra. She and her family moved to Citra in 1916 from Heavener, moving to Allen then back to Ada in 1970 from Oklahoma City. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Crosspointe Church.

She married Luther Blevins on March 21, 1931, in Winfield, Kan. He died Oct. 7, 1960.

Survivors include niece, LaHoma Chandler, El Paso, Texas; two great nieces, Betty Crisp and her husband Bill, Fitzhugh; and Ramona Chandler, Seguin, Washington; a great-nephew, Paul Fortner and his wife Dessa, Tupelo; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Austin Fortner, Clinton Fortner, Frank Fortner, Walter Fortner, Coleman Fortner, and John Fortner; and five sisters, Rosie Fortner, Emma Ingram, Effie Johnson, Alice Evans and Mattie Fortner.

Bearers will be members of Crosspointe Church.
