The Bulloch County native lived in the Middleground section of Bulloch County all of her life. She was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Verna Merriman of Statesboro; a son, Pershing Metts of Shreveport, La.; six sisters, Mrs. Gertrude McAlheny of Vidalia, Mrs. Essie Carroll of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Ruby Bryant of Danville, Mrs. Mamie Kitchings of Langley, S.C., Mrs. Myrtle Benson of Gloverville, S.C., and Mrs. Erma Kennedy of Savannah; a brother, Harvey Deal of Statesboro; and four grandchildren.
Funeral: 5 p.m. today at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, burial in the church cemetery.
