Edna V. Brown was born at Melrose, Iowa, to Charles and Emma Wellman on August 21, 1882. She departed this life at Colonial Terrace in Blue Hill on December 5, 1968. She reached the age of 86 years, 3 months and 14 days.
She moved with her parents to the Blue Hill vicinity in 1890. There she lived until her death, with the exception of nine years spent in Oregon.
She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1903, after which she taught school. She was married to Ernest Brown on November 15, 1905.
Preceding her in death were her father and mother, two sisters, Nancy and Anna; and one brother, Willie.
She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband, Ernie; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Martin, Mrs. Inez Lacy, both of Blue Hill, and Mrs. Effie Cline of Compton, Calif.; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on December 7 in the Blue Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Stevens officiating, assisted by the Rev. Homer Clements. Mrs. Homer Clements and Mrs. Albert Jenny sang and were accompanied by Mrs. Frank Kamm on the organ.
Pallbearers were Theron Fish, Elmer Schulz, Ernest Krueger, Harvey Stroh, Henry Alber, and Farroll Penrose. Interment was in the Blue Hill Cemetery.
