Between 1845 and 1850 they moved to Dallas Co., AR where they remained farming in Dallas County. They raised a large family though one of the girls was said to have died young.
Absalom and Sarah Adams died sometime during the Civil War. Family stories say that they were killed by Indians but that's more a myth than fact. Likely they were either killed by raiders or died of ill health during the war. At any rate family members say they were buried in unmarked graves at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dallas County.
