A GOOD WOMAN IS DEAD--Mrs. Elizabeth Adams Bohannon Johnson, one of
Coweta's oldest residents and most estimable women, died on Wednesday last at the home of her son, Mr. J.P. Bohannon [Polk],in the Third District, after a short illness. She was born in Walton County, GA in 1814, and at the time of her death was 87 years of age. She was the daughter of John [sic] Adams, who removed to this county in 1827, and was one of Coweta's pioneer citizens. she had been twice married. Her first husband was Joseph Bohannon, who died in 1852. In 1866, she married M.S.Johnson, who died in 1895. By her first marriage she had nine children, five of whom are yet living, viz; Mrs. John T. Kirby of Newnan, Mrs Isaac T. Word of Texas, A.H. Bohannon of Newnan, L.W.A. Bohannon of Carroll County. She had no children by her second marriage. She was a good woman, and her death is much lamented in the community where her long and useful life was spent.
