75, retired construction worker
MOULTON -- Funeral for Joseph Russell Thomas Sr., 75, of Town Creek will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Donald Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralton McCarley officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Thomas died Saturday at Lawrence County Hospital. He was a retired construction worker and a member of Donald Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Thomas was the step-father of the late Frank Mruphy.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Thomas; one son, Joseph Thomas of Town Creek; one daughter, Shirley Jean Agee of Town Creek; three step-sons, James Murphy and Robert Murphy, both of Town Creek and Jack Murphy of Rogersville, two step-daughters, Margie Ann Norton of Town Creek and Patricia Sanders of Blythville, Ark.; two brothers, Kenneth Thomas of Huntsville and Ralph Thomas of Decatur; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
