Walter H. "Cowboy" Thomas, 76, of Athens died Monday.
The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Dr. Andy Wolf officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Idelle McMahan Thomas; four sons, Walter Ronald Thomas of Huntsville, Michael Allen Thomas of Jacksonville, AR, H. Lavoy Thomas and Gary Morgan Thomas, both of Athens; a daughter, Susan Thomas Coulter of Huntsville; four brothers, Ralph Thomas of Decatur, Kenneth Thomas of Huntsville, Leonard Thomas and Russell Thomas, both of Town Creek; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
