Sallie was the daughter of Pleasant & Mary Ann Hicks Grimes. She married Joseph Delaney, the son of William H. & Asenith Hodge Delaney, on June 18, 1898 in Jessamine County. The couple were the parents of Gertie, William Henry, Joseph, James David, Ida Mary and Bessie Delaney. Mrs. Grimes passed away from the effects of hemiplegia, with a duration of fifteen days.
