Tell of Early Days
Mrs. Minnie Anderson, who is a native born Cass county pioneer, having been born at Plattsmouth on October 16, 1856, reached her 80th birthday last October, and is able to recount many incidents of early Cass county history, having resided in the county throughout the years of her life. Her parents were Rev. and Mrs. A. L. Folden, the father being an early day circuit riding minister, who made the rounds of his parishioners on horseback, preaching in homes and pioneer schoolhouses. Mrs. Anderson well recalls the days when Indians were plentiful about Plattsmouth and over-land trains were being outfitted there to make the trip to California, where gold had been discovered.
She is happily located in a small apartment in the east part of town, where she does her own housekeeping. She has made brief visits outside the county and lived for a short time in California, but to her, Cass county is and always has been home. She likes it here better than anywhere else she has ever been and is happy and contented among the old time friends and acquaintances of this vicinity.

Legislature Changed Her Name
When Young.
A.J. Anderson of Union called at the office of the secretary of state this forenoon to examine territorial legislation and in the hope of finding verification of the report that his wife's name had been changed by an act of the legislature at a time when the legislature of Nebraska has such power. This power is now vested in district courts.
Mr. Anderson married the adopted daughter of Rev. A. L. Folden, a pioneer Methodist preacher who died recently at Nebraska City. Mr. Anderson alleges that his wife was the only legally adopted child of Rev. Mr. Folden and he desires to prove that she is heir to the small amount of property he left.
Mrs. Anderson was known as Minnie Folden. She was born in 1857 and was adopted when she was eighteen months old. Rev. Mr. Folden at that time lived at the village of Wyoming, Otoe County.
Investigation of the legislative acts disclose two acts changing names, but none has yet been found changing the original name of Minnie Folden. Mrs. Anderson does not know her original name and is anxious to discover it.
