IN MEMORIAM ARTHUR D. ANDERSON

Arthur D. Anderson, son of Andrew and Minnie Anderson was born August 25,1895 at Ashland, Nebraska. As a small child he moved to Brule, Nebr., where he was owner an auto repair shop. Following retirement he established a home at Martin Ville on Lake McConaughy, returning to Brule in 1970. He had an avid interest in geology and archeology and spent his retirement years researching the history of the area. He shared this knowledge with many organizations as well as noted historians of the state. He was a member of the Nebraska Historical Society for twelve years and a charter member and officer of the Keith County Historical Society. He had been a member of the I,.O.O. F. Lodge for 45 years and was a charter member and organizer of the Brule Volunteer Fire Department. Following a brief illness he passed away Oct. 16th at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Survivors include two sisters Mrs. Garfield Dunning of Plattsmouth, Nebr., Mrs. Vernon Fleshman of Ogallala; four brothers Frank of Union, Ernest of Brule, Lou of Cordiff, California, Amos of Fultonville, New York and many nieces and nephews. Burial was in the Brule Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. A. Hermanson at the Congregational Church, Oct 19th and graveside rites conducted by the Ogallala I.O.O.F. Lodge.
