Funeral services were held at Randlett July 6 for Donna Mecham Winn who died very suddenly at Soldier Summit July 3 from heart trouble. Mrs Winn had been ailing for some time and it was thought that a change in climate would do her good so she was taken to Soldier Summit to visit her mother, Mrs. J D Mecham. The change seemed to help her and on the morning of the 3rd she took a walk in the yard before breakfast. She came in laid down on the bed gasped a few times and passed away.
Donna Mecham Winn was born at Jensen Nov 14 1889. She was the daughter of J D Mecham and Agnes McCarroll Mecham. She was married to James Albert Winn July 2, 1908 and from this union the following children were born all of whom survive; Georgia Agnes Venice Orson Roy David Floyd and Mary. Also her father and mother and the following brothers and sisters; Jane Clark, Frank Mecham, George Mecham, Nora Clark, Emma Clark, Wm Mecham, Francis Clark and Afton Farakis.
The funeral services were held under the direction of Bishop Lawrence C Wall. The choir sand "Nearer Dear Savior to Thee", "'Guide Me to Thee" and "O My Father". Prayer was offered by C. Ruben Wilson and the benediction was pronounced by David Burgi. The speakers were Howard Stevens, Lawrence C Wall and Chas L. Knight, all of whom spoke of the noble character and devoted life of the deceased and offered words of comfort and consolation to the bereaved husband and children.
Mrs Winn was a faithful Latter-day Saint and highly esteemed iin the community. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to her husband and children in their hour of great bereavement. Interment was in the new Randlett cemetery. The grave was dedicated by Chas L. Knight
