Mrs. Gertrude Castle, 79, of Paintsville died Wednesday, May 16 in the Paintsville Hospital following a brief illness. She was affiliated with the United Baptist church. She was the daughter of the late H. S. and Sarah Blevins Boling. Immediate survivors include eight sons, Fred Castle of Colorado Springs,CO, Mason Castle of Kokomo,IN, Dennis Castle of Wabash,IN, Marion Castle,Jr., of Wabash,IN, John E. Castle of Puyallup,WA, Clifford Simpson of Columbus,OH, Walter Simpson of Pikeville, three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Preston of Paintsville, Mrs. Alice Waterman of Poland Springs,MD, and Mrs. Dixie Blevins of Offutt, two step daughters, Mrs. Ida Tackett, and Mrs. Lydia Davis, both of Whitehouse, and several half brothers and half sisters.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mose Kitchen Saturday, May 19 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home.Burial followed in the Highland Memorial park at Staffordsville under direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
