Marion Castle, 76, Dies May 25 After Brief Illness Marion Castle, 76, died on May 25 in a local hospital following abrief illness. Born March 27, 1889, he was the son of the late Marion and Clara Price Castle. He had been a resident of Van Lear several years and was a retired miner. Mr. Castle is survived by his wife, Gertrude Bowling Castle. Also surviving are six sons Fred Castle, Security, Colorado, MasonCastle, Kokomo, Ind., Marion Castle, Jr., Wabash, Ind., Dennis Castle,Honolulu, Hawaii, John E. Castle, Tacoma, Wash., William Karr Castle,Van Lear; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Tackett, Mrs. Lyda Davis, Mrs. LeonH. Preston, all of Paintsville, Mrs. Alice Waterman, Poland, Maine.Other survivors include 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren;two brothers, John Castle, Williamson, W. Va., Ervin Castle, Matewan,W. Va., one sister, Mrs. Clara Castle, Belfry; five step-children,Mrs. Sara Ditty, Mrs. Dixie Blevins, Walter, Clifford, and Charlie Simpson. Funeral services were held May 28 in the First Church of God,Paintsville, with the Revs. Tommie Reynolds and Mose Kitchen officiating. Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
